On August 21, 2026, Heritage College hosted its second themed Open House of the year, this time focusing on one of the most important considerations for prospective students: student financing and funding options.

The Student Finance Open House welcomed prospective students from across the Calgary area, including newcomers to Canada, career changers, and individuals looking for new opportunities to improve their careers and livelihoods through education.

More than simply a campus tour, the event was designed to provide attendees with practical information about education, financing, career opportunities, and the different resources available to help them take their next step.

Four Talks, One Goal: Helping Students Make Informed Decisions

Throughout the afternoon, attendees participated in four informative presentations covering different stages of the student journey.

The sessions began with an introduction to Heritage College’s flagship career programs, giving prospective students a better understanding of the training and career pathways available to them.

This was followed by a presentation from ATB Financial, one of Heritage College’s financing partners, discussing student financing options and resources that may be available to eligible students.

The next session explored additional ways students may be able to fund their education, including government student loans and grants, as well as Heritage College’s 0% in-house financing option.

The presentations concluded with a discussion about what happens after graduation: employment and career placement.

Heritage College highlighted placement outcomes ranging from approximately 80% to 100% across its programs, demonstrating the College’s focus not only on helping students complete their education, but also on helping graduates transition into employment within their respective fields.

The entire event was also captured live, allowing those who were unable to attend to watch the presentations and learn from the information shared during the Open House.

From Information to Action

One of the most inspiring parts of the Open House was seeing prospective students turn information into action.

During the event, Heritage College made a considerable amount of scholarship funding available to eligible students planning to begin their programs in September.

For individuals currently considering going back to school or starting a new career, this may be an excellent time to speak with the Heritage College Admissions team about available programs, upcoming start dates, financing options, and scholarship opportunities.

September seats and available scholarships are limited, so prospective students are encouraged to contact Admissions as soon as possible.

Celebrating Our Raffle Winners

Of course, the afternoon wasn’t all presentations!

The Open House also included raffle giveaways, with winners including a couple who recently relocated from Quebec to Alberta, as well as one of our business partners from the financial industry.

It was a great way to add some fun and celebration to an afternoon focused on new opportunities and new beginnings.

More Than a Campus Tour

A Heritage College Open House isn’t simply an opportunity to walk through the campus.

It’s an opportunity to ask questions, meet instructors, speak with staff and students, understand financing options, explore career pathways, and gather the information needed to make an informed decision about your future.

Choosing to return to school or pursue a new career can be a significant decision. Having access to the right information—and the right people who can answer your questions—can make that decision much easier.

Building Partnerships That Support Students

Another important highlight of the Student Finance Open House was the opportunity to showcase partnerships designed to provide students with additional financial resources.

Heritage College highlighted its relationship with ATB Financial and its student financing options, as well as Windmill Microlending, which provides financing support for skilled immigrants and newcomers to Canada who are working toward career development, training, and Canadian credentials.

These partnerships are part of Heritage College’s broader commitment to helping remove barriers that may prevent qualified and motivated individuals from pursuing education and career opportunities.

Thank You for Making the Open House a Success!

Overall, the Student Finance Open House was a tremendous success.

We would like to sincerely thank all of the prospective students, current students, visitors, walk-ins, community members, business and financing partners who joined us throughout the afternoon.

A special thank you also goes to the Heritage College staff, faculty, speakers, and volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the event possible.

Most importantly, congratulations to everyone who took that first step toward exploring a new career and a new opportunity.

What’s Next? Employment, Practicum & Career Opportunities

We’re already looking ahead to our next Heritage College Open House, planned for the winter season.

This time, the theme will shift from financing your education to what comes next: employment, practicum opportunities, career preparation, and connecting students with employers.

We are also planning to incorporate a mini job fair, creating an opportunity for students, graduates, prospective students, and employers to connect.

More information—including the official date and event details—will be announced soon.

Stay tuned. Your next career opportunity may begin at Heritage College.
